Privacy Policy

Last Updated: February 10, 2026

Trackly ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Trackly application and website (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our Service.

1. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

  • Account Information: When you sign up, we collect your name, email address, and authentication credentials through third-party login providers (e.g., GitHub, Google).
  • GitHub Data: When you connect your GitHub account, we access your public repository information, commit messages, and related metadata that you authorize us to read.
  • Social Media Accounts: If you connect social media accounts (e.g., X/Twitter, LinkedIn), we store the necessary authentication tokens to post on your behalf.
  • User Preferences: Your posting preferences, tone settings, scheduling configurations, and other customization choices.

Information Collected Automatically

  • Usage Data: Pages visited, features used, timestamps, and interaction patterns within the Service.
  • Device Information: Browser type, operating system, IP address, and device identifiers.
  • Cookies: We use essential cookies to maintain your session and preferences.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Service
  • Read your GitHub commit data and generate social media post drafts using AI
  • Post content to your connected social media accounts on your behalf, with your approval
  • Improve, personalize, and expand the Service
  • Communicate with you about updates, support, and service-related notices
  • Detect and prevent fraud or abuse

3. AI Processing

Our Service uses artificial intelligence to transform your GitHub commit messages into social media posts. Your commit data is processed by third-party AI providers (e.g., Anthropic's Claude API) to generate post drafts. We send only the necessary commit information to these providers, and we do not use your data to train AI models.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information with:

  • Service Providers: Third-party services that help us operate the Service (e.g., hosting providers, AI APIs, analytics tools). These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data.
  • Social Media Platforms: When you authorize us to post on your behalf, we share the generated content with your connected social media platforms.
  • Legal Requirements: If required by law, regulation, or legal process.

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit (TLS/SSL), secure storage of authentication tokens, and access controls. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Withdraw consent for data processing
  • Export your data in a portable format

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@trackly.so.

8. GitHub Permissions

Our Service requests only the minimum GitHub permissions necessary to function. You can revoke access at any time through your GitHub account settings. Revoking access will prevent us from reading new commit data but will not automatically delete previously generated content.

9. Third-Party Links

Our Service may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties.

10. Children's Privacy

Our Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on our website and updating the "Last Updated" date.
